Achieve These Outcomes
You will have opportunities to accomplish one or more of these goals:
- Instruct music classes and workshops at community music schools, senior living communities, after-school programs, churches, and various other community organizations.
- Serve as an ensemble leader and performer for diverse audiences.
- Act as a music entrepreneur by creating innovative music materials (both pedagogical and performance-based) for community audiences.
- Work as an administrative staff member in arts organizations, government agencies, music schools, or global mission groups.
Choose Your Concentration
The program offers three different tracks: Artist-Teaching, Community Leadership, and Global Mission. While all three tracks require students to take core courses, each track has its own emphasis and thus pursues slightly different career paths.
Artist-Teaching
The Artist-Teaching track emphasizes developing group teaching skills alongside performance activities aimed at engaging the community.
Community Leadership
The Community Leadership track is designed to cultivate professional leadership and administrative skills for managing music programs.
Global Mission
The Global Mission track prepares mission workers to establish music programs abroad, equipping them with essential group-teaching skills and administrative strategies.
