Toby Wamsley came to Judson to pursue a degree in Business Management, and while Judson has been a practical preparation for entering the field of business, he feels he has been prepared for much more than a career. For Toby, the Judson experience has been a spiritual revival.
He鈥檒l never forget attending the first Upper Room of his sophomore year, where he felt God speaking to Him in a powerful way. The chapel was more crowded than it had been at other Upper Room services, and when everyone started singing 鈥淗allelujah Anyway鈥 by Rend Collective, Toby felt God speaking deep in his soul. 鈥淭hat has become my anthem through life,鈥 Toby explains. 鈥淓ven if various things go bad in life, hallelujah anyway.鈥
Toby has also experienced revival through the friendships he has found at Judson. 鈥淲e started having testimony nights, discipleship programs, and Bible studies here at Judson, and just seeing people鈥檚 lives flip and them be on fire for God has been incredible,鈥 Toby says. Toby鈥檚 friend, Diego, who is on the baseball team, started discipling Toby, which has contributed greatly to his spiritual growth. That鈥檚 why he is part of Bible Boys and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 鈥淢y faith has become my own here,鈥 Toby explains, 鈥渁nd I give everything I am and everything I have to the Lord every day.鈥 In addition to his involvement in Bible Boys and FCA, Toby is also a team captain for Judson鈥檚 bowling team, a member of the athletic leadership team, and part of the Judson Business Society.
As Toby contemplates the years ahead, he鈥檚 excited to see how God will move in the lives of more students like him who decide to let their lives be transformed. 鈥淚 think Judson is a place that will shape the rest of your life for the better in a way that you would never imagine,鈥 Toby says. Indeed, for Toby, Judson鈥檚 vision has been a reality. It鈥檚 shaped his life, and now he鈥檚 ready to shape the world.
