Elgin, IL (September 2024) 鈥� 好色先生TV is excited to welcome two notable speakers to its September chapel services, bringing a range of perspectives that promise to inspire and engage the Judson community.

On Monday, September 16, Pastor Mattie Montgomery, leader of The Alter Church in Tennessee and former lead singer of the metalcore band For Today, will speak at chapel. Pastor Montgomery, who is biracial, has made a significant impact both through his ministry and outreach. His church was recently featured in The Roys Report for its incredible act of generosity in paying off medical debt for thousands in their community. Pastor Montgomery has spoken at Judson chapel multiple times, and we are honored to welcome him back once again.

On Wednesday, September 18, Judson will host a Constitution Day Chapel featuring Daniel Cameron, former Kentucky Attorney General and current CEO of the 1792 Exchange. At the 2 p.m. commencement program, graduates from the remaining Traditional Undergraduate programs celebrated their accomplishments. Additionally, Judson graduated seven students with a Certificate of Completion from the RISE (Road to Independent Living, Spiritual Formation and Employment) Program for students with intellectual disabilities. Distinguished academic awards for excellence and leadership were presented to the following students:

Erin Aubrey, a graduating senior from 好色先生TV, received the President鈥檚 Scholar Award, which is presented to a graduating senior who demonstrates the persistence and commitment.聽Throughout her four years at 好色先生TV, Erin Aubrey has exemplified excellence. She’s not only a member of the Honors Program, pursuing her degree in elementary education, but has also earned endorsements in Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Middle Grades. Balancing rigorous coursework and practicum experiences, Erin has taken on diverse roles as an academic leader, tutor, and community ambassador through programs like the Roeser Scholar and Golden Apple Scholar. Described by supervisors and teachers as exceptionally bright, reflective, and dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners, Erin’s enthusiasm is palpable whether on campus or in the classroom. Kristopher Barber, of Cary, Ill., is a Business Administration major graduate. Kris was honored with the President鈥檚 Scholar Award, which is presented to a graduating senior who demonstrates the persistence and commitment.聽Kris, an adult learner, has shown exceptional dedication while pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship at 好色先生TV. Kris served nine years in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician before transitioning to civilian life, where he has excelled in roles at companies like Motorola Solutions and Heuft USA. During his studies, Kris and his wife have welcomed a new addition to their family, yet he still finds time to volunteer at events supporting causes like Crohn鈥檚 and Colitis and the American Cancer Society. Kris’s commitment to both academic excellence and supporting his peers, despite the challenges of balancing school with work and family, is truly commendable. Judson鈥檚 Commencement ceremony will be held on May 4, 2024 in the Herrick Chapel at the Elgin Campus.

Bruce Koblish has charted a remarkable journey marked by transition, letting go, and change, ultimately leading him to his current endeavors focused on serving the most vulnerable in society. In 2020, he founded Willow Bend Creative, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, hunger, abuse, and addiction. Through initiatives like Hope in The Gate, a national retreat model in partnership with Citygate Network, Koblish has facilitated life transformation, utilizing the power of Christian music and storytelling to bring dignity and respect to marginalized communities.

Prior to his work with Willow Bend Creative, Koblish served as the President and CEO of CNI (The Worship Network) from 2005 to 2015, reaching millions of viewers with messages of hope and healing through television programming. His extensive career in Christian music includes producing and arranging for renowned artists such as Sandi Patty, Steve Green, and Michael W. Smith. Koblish鈥檚 contributions to the industry also include his tenure as President of the Gospel Music Association and President of Reunion Records.

At 73 years old, Koblish continues to find inspiration in the words of the apostle Paul, recognizing the mystery and power of God in the meek, humble, poor, and homeless.
